Blyth Cowpen Road

Road layout and junction improvements to reduce congestion and improve journey times to key employment sites in Blyth.

The Blyth Cowpen Road project is a corridor scheme for the A193 Cowpen Road between Tynedale Drive and the A189 Spine Road.

The scheme involves localised carriageway widening along Cowpen Road, better utilisation of existing road space, improved signage and improvements at the Tynedale Drive and Cowpen Road Junction including the removal of one set set of traffic signals.

Improvements to destination signing on the A189 more clearly identifies the option to use an alternative route into Blyth to help reduce traffic flows along the A193 Cowpen Road corridor.
