Refurbishment and expansion of East Durham College to extend support to land-based, animal care and rural sectors.
The project allowed East Durham College to expand and improve the available courses at the Houghall Campus. The main campus building was fully refurbished and farm buildings were built (or refurbished) to create the Houghall Equine Centre, Small Animal Care Centre (including some commercial space), and the Agricultural Centre.
This has allowed the Houghall Campus to offer extended provision in land-based, wildlife management, agricultural, small animal care, vet nursing and equine training.
The new campus was officially opened in January 2017 by HRH Princess Anne.
