Network improvements to support development of 23km ‘superfast’ broadband loop through Newcastle and North Tyneside.

This investment provided for the installation of ‘superfast’ bradband loop, linking key employment and industrial sites in the area to broadband network running down the spine of the country. The capacity of the network is such that it competes with other high speed hubs at Media City in Manchester, and the Olympic Park in West London. In addition the infrastructure links to the Cobalt Data Centres, offering state of the art secure data handling facilitites.
