Seta can support your school’s IAG through school talks, visits and careers events.
Seta staff are available to deliver presentations at assemblies to year 11 – 13 pupils on the subject of Apprenticeships. We will specifically feature Engineering, Production, Warehousing, Business Admin and Customer Services. Depending on availability, it may be possible to bring a company seeking apprentices with us to these assemblies.
Seta staff can attend careers events for years 10 – 13 to advise them on career choices and what apprenticeship are and how they work.
School visits to the Seta training centre
Seta is able to facilitate school visits of up to 15 pupils at a time to the Seta training centre in Washington for pupils interested in Engineering. These visits would include a short presentation on engineering apprenticeships, a tour of the training facilities and the opportunity to talk to current apprentices when possible. The visit lasts between 40 minutes – 1 hour and must be booked well in advance.
CV writing, application completion and interview tips sessions
Seta can provide a CV Writing, Application Completion and Interview Top Tips session for pupils in Year 11. This covers what individuals should put into a CV and apprentice application form and what they should not, what employers look for in individuals and how to impress in an interview. The session is for all year 11 pupils and lasts between 40 minutes – 1 hour.
