Personality quiz, The Buzz, now live on North East Ambition

Careers leaders in schools and colleges across the region, as well as other key stakeholders including parents/carers, are now able to access the acclaimed personality quiz, The Buzz, to help young people think about their natural strengths and what type of courses or jobs/careers they could consider for the future. We caught up with Michelle Rainbow, Skills Director at the North East LEP to learn more about The Buzz.

“The Buzz is a personality-based quiz that can be used to help identify your natural strengths, to help you to choose the type of course or job/career that you might want to pursue in the future.  It was developed by David Hodgson, an author and trainer, who worked as a careers adviser in schools for over 20 years. 

It’s based on the simple idea that we all have different strengths. If we identify our strengths and use these to choose courses and careers, we will be happier and more successful throughout our lives. 

Taking inspiration from personality type models developed by pioneering psychologists including Carl Jung, Isabel Briggs Myers and David Keirsey, David developed The Buzz with and for young people to help them make better informed decisions, increase their self-awareness and raise their confidence and aspirations.

We’re thrilled to be partnering with David to host The Buzz on our North East Ambition website. His work has been shared across the world with young people, careers leaders, teachers, parents/carers, careers advisers and other professionals supporting young people. We’ll be sharing the resource with careers leaders across the region and further afield and then developing additional resources and training with David to support careers leaders and other keys stakeholders to help young people get the most from The Buzz and feel more confident about their futures.”
